Trips & Excursions

Some things are best learnt by going to see them. Each session the School takes its students out, by class and by age, on educational visits and excursions that connect what is taught in the classroom to the world it describes, and that give a child the experience of travelling, eating and sleeping away from home in the company of teachers and friends.

How trips are arranged

Trips are planned for the session and announced in the academic calendar and by circular. Every trip is led by teachers of the School, with a ratio of staff to students set for the age of the children, and parents are told the itinerary, the arrangements for travel and stay, and the cost, before consent is sought. Younger classes go for the day to places within the district; the middle and senior classes travel further and stay away.

The 2025–26 session

In the last session the senior classes went on a four-day educational trip to Jaipur, where they studied the astronomical instruments at the Jantar Mantar and saw a manufacturing line in operation at the Parle factory. Classes VII to IX visited the Botanical Garden as part of the School’s Earth Day observance. The younger classes spent a day at Barota Farm, in outdoor and adventure activities suited to their age, and students visited the Shiva Ayurvedic Hospital to see a hospital at work. A planetarium visit and two-day adventure trips formed part of the summer camp.

The summer camp

In the monsoon break the School holds a seven-day summer camp on campus, open to its students by age group. The camp of July 2025 included a theatre workshop, pottery, Vedic mathematics, robotics, art and craft, a dance workshop, science experiments, adventure activities and the planetarium visit. The camp is optional and is announced in the calendar.
