Academic Facilities
Teaching at the School takes place in a single academic block of five floors, built to a scale that a school of this size will grow into for years to come. Every subject that needs a room of its own has one, and every floor has a staff room, so that a teacher is never far from a class.
Classrooms
There are thirty-four classrooms, each between fifty and one hundred square metres, arranged so that the youngest children are on the ground floor and the senior classes above. The Nursery, LKG and UKG rooms open on to an activity room of their own. Classrooms are furnished for the age of the children in them and are equipped for teaching with the board and with the screen.
Laboratories
Seven laboratories serve the School. Physics, Chemistry and Biology each have a laboratory of their own for the senior classes, and a composite science laboratory serves the middle school. The Mathematics laboratory and the Geography laboratory support practical work in those subjects from the primary classes upwards. The computer laboratory, of one hundred and fifty square metres, is served by its own server room and is used by every class from Class I; from Class III it is where students meet artificial intelligence and robotics for the first time.
Libraries
The School keeps two libraries. The junior library, on the second floor, is stocked for readers from Nursery to Class V and is where the youngest children have their library periods. The senior library, on the third floor, serves Classes VI to X with reference works, fiction and periodicals. Every class has a library period on its timetable, and students are encouraged to read a book a month and to keep a record of what they have read in their almanac.
Art, music and the halls
Art and craft is taught in a laboratory of its own on the ground floor; music in a music room on the second, where vocal and instrumental music are taught by staff appointed for the purpose. The multi-purpose hall on the ground floor and the seminar hall on the fourth, each of two hundred square metres, hold the School’s assemblies, examinations, exhibitions, performances and parent-teacher meetings. A conference room and a sports room complete the block.
