The Admissions Process

How to
Apply

A straightforward five-step process, from your first phone call to your child’s first day. Admissions are open and rolling throughout the year.

The Process

Five Steps to
Enrolment

Admissions at SIRS are considered on a rolling basis, subject to availability of places. Early enquiry is strongly encouraged. The school reserves the right to request any documentation it considers necessary to assess an application fairly.

01
Initial Enquiry
Contact the school by telephone, email, or in person at the School Reception during office hours, Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Let us know the class you are seeking and your preferred mode of enrolment (Day Scholar or Boarding).
02
Campus Visit
Families are warmly invited to visit the campus at Luhnu Kanaitan, Bilaspur. Please confirm your visit in advance so that the right member of staff may be available to receive you. A visit gives the child and their parents a direct experience of the facilities, the residential arrangements, and the spirit of SIRS. We strongly encourage it before any application is submitted.
03
Application & Documents
Submit the completed Application Form together with all required supporting documents. The Student Personal Record, to be filled and signed by the Parent or Guardian only, is completed at this stage, in duplicate. Incomplete applications cannot be processed.
04
Assessment & Interaction
The school may conduct an age-appropriate interaction or written assessment with the child. The purpose is not to exclude, it is to place the child correctly and to understand what support they may benefit from at the outset.
05
Offer & Enrolment
Upon offer of a place, the family completes enrolment formalities including payment of fees. The child is assigned to a class and, if a Boarder, to a house and hostel room. Uniform and almanac are provided on or before the first day.
Please note: All events, activities, and dates mentioned in school communications are tentative and subject to change. Any changes will be communicated to all stakeholders in due course.

General Conditions

What the School
Expects

Admission to SIRS is open to students of all backgrounds, faiths, and regions. The school does not discriminate on the basis of caste, religion, language, or place of origin. What the school does require is that the student and their family are actually committed to meeting the standards of conduct, attendance, and academic effort that SIRS expects of all its members.

Equal Standards
Day Scholars and Boarders are held to identical academic and behavioural standards. The mode of attendance does not alter what the school expects of the child.
Transfer Certificate
All students joining from another school must provide a Transfer Certificate issued by their previous institution. This is a mandatory CBSE requirement and cannot be waived.
Attendance
A minimum of 75% attendance is required for examination eligibility. Leave applications must be submitted in writing, signed by a parent or guardian.
Open to All
SIRS admits students from all backgrounds, regions, and faiths. The only requirement is commitment, to the school, to learning, and to the community.
