Shiva International Residential School, known among its students as SIRS, stands as a proud initiative of the Shiva Group of Institutions, operated under the Shiva Educational Society. Established in 2024, SIRS represents the most considered and ambitious undertaking of an organisation that has dedicated itself to the transformation of education in District Bilaspur for nearly two decades.
The school is situated in Luhnu Kanaitan, on the Chandpur road in Bilaspur, set against the forested ridges of Himachal Pradesh where the natural landscape provides both the physical backdrop and the spiritual context for learning that endures.
SIRS is fully affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education and offers classes from Nursery through Class X, accommodating both Day Scholars and residential Boarders. It is the first institution of its kind in the district. Its founding philosophy is without equivocation: to build a school in Bilaspur that competes, on every measure, with the finest institutions in India.

The campus at Luhnu Kanaitan occupies a commanding position on the hillside above Bilaspur. The main building, five storeys of classrooms, laboratories, residential blocks, and common facilities, rises above the valley, with the Himalayan ridgeline visible on the horizon in every season.
A School for
the Whole Child
SIRS offers two modes of enrolment, Day Scholar and full Boarding. Both Day Scholars and Boarders receive an identical education and are held to the same standards. The school follows the CBSE curriculum from Nursery through Class X, with smart classrooms, computer labs with an AI curriculum, science laboratories, a library, an arts room, and, uniquely, an on-campus shooting range.
Beyond the classroom, SIRS offers a full co-curricular programme: a four-house system (Falcons, Ospreys, Hawks, Eagles), a Student Council, school clubs across six domains including an IIMUN-affiliated MUN Club, music, drama, visual arts, and basketball.
