School Anthem
The School Anthem is sung by students at assemblies and School gatherings throughout the year. All students are expected to learn it by heart from their first term.
We Are the SIRStars
The School Anthem was written for Shiva International Residential School and captures the values and aspirations the School holds for its students. It is sung at every assembly, at prize-giving, and on any significant occasion when the School community comes together.
The anthem speaks of courage, curiosity, truth, and a connection to place. Students are expected to know it by heart and to sing it with the seriousness appropriate to an occasion of that kind.
The musical score and an audio recording are available from the School office and through the student portal.
We are the SIRStars, bold and free, With hearts on fire and minds so keen, In Bilaspur’s hills, we rise and lead, Sowing knowledge, planting seed. From dawn’s first light to night’s repose, In truth we stand, as one we grow, We are the SIRStars, here to stay, Reaching for the stars each day.

What the Anthem Expresses
The courage to speak, question, and attempt difficult things. Students are encouraged to take intellectual risks and act with confidence.
A commitment to honesty and to standing together as a community. The School holds that trust between people depends on truthfulness.
A genuine interest in ideas and questions. The anthem reflects the School’s view that learning well begins with wanting to understand, not merely to pass.
A connection to Bilaspur and to the region the School serves. Students carry with them a responsibility to the place that has given them their education.
The National School Pledge
India is my country. All Indians are my brothers and sisters. I love my country and I am proud of its rich and varied heritage. I shall always strive to be worthy of it. I shall give my parents, teachers and all elders respect and render assistance to them when in need. I shall be kind to animals and protect nature and the environment. I shall frankly and openly discuss all matters of importance and endeavour to only speak the truth in my dealings with everyone. I shall not indulge in any unfair means in my studies or otherwise. I shall encourage my friends and companions likewise to follow this pledge. In doing so, I shall always work as a part of a team and endeavour to contribute to the overall growth and development of my school and my country.
